THE MARATHON ENDS - TILL NEXT SEASON

my 11 day drawing marathon in Tulsa OK, ended tonight officially, Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 9:00:00 PM (that is, Monday, October 11, 2010 at 9:00:00 AM, in ho chi minh, vietnam, where my website indicates I am getting a significantly increased amount of 'hits'). it took me 2 hours after that to tear everything down and load up. it started raining, just as i finished wheeling my last dolly-load into the ford windstar. next season i will invite a bunch of local art critics and writers to follow me and blog the whole event. FOR THE RECORD: 259 drawings, that is, 473 faces. sponsored by no one. now i will drive 2 consecutive days through the great plains to get back to hipster-landia, minneSNOWta!

Marathon Man

tomorrow am the real marathon begins. after 7 days of drawing for the people of tulsa, i will be kicking it into overdrive for 3 consecutive eleven hour shifts, hoping to enhance my drawing abilities by tapping into a "raw nerve" with the same repetitive hand gestures, not unlike the raw creativity of the double shift worker in a factory, or a keyboard player at the turf club. . .
